AIAS-MN T-shirt Competition Rules and Disclaimers

 This webpage contains the full rules and disclaimers for the AIAS-MN annual T-shirt design competition.

Design Constraints:

Designs must be a negative space style drawing such that the screen prints can come from a single layered sticker. This means no multi colored or multi layered designs. The design should include AIAS in some way shape or form from the main point to a small AIAS logo in the corner. Design should not be extremely intricate but detail is welcome. Design can not be larger than 8 in. x 10 in. and must only be on the front side (no front and back designs)

Prize:

The winning submission will be used as part of the AIAS-MN t-shirt sales during the 2021-2022 academic school year. The winner will be entitled to a free shirt of their choice in size and color, as well as a custom order of vinyl stickers(constraints tbd)

Rules:

Submissions must be received between midnight on the announcement date (September 1) and 11:59 PM on September 19. Any submissions received before or after this time will not be considered.

AIAS-MN will release submissions that abide by the design constraints to public voting on September 23. The public voting period will be open from 12:00 AM September 23 until 11:59 PM on September 30. All votes from AIAS-MN members and students of the University of Minnesota College of Design will be counted if they are submitted within this time frame, and all votes received before or after this time will not be considered. Voting will be performed by ranked-choice, which will be used to determine the winner. AIAS-MN reserves the right to disqualify any design submissions that do not abide by the rules of the competition.

Disclaimer: by submitting a design to AIAS-MN, you agree to abide by the following:

  • Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use winners name, city, state, and winning entry for promotional purposes.

  • Contest entry constitutes permission to use winning submissions on AIAS-MN's website and its affiliated websites and accounts without further compensation. Contest entry also constitutes permission for AIAS-MN to produce and sell shirts containing the winning design without further compensation to the entrant. Furthermore, entry constitutes permission to archive your winning entries indefinitely on any webpage on this website (aiasmn.org).

  • Contestants agree that the sole and final judgment as to all matters concerning contests and interpretation of contest rules are at the sole discretion of AIAS-MN and its board

  • Prizes are offered “as is” with no written, express, or implied warranty. AIAS-MN is not responsible for replacing prizes as a result of damage prior to, during or after shipping or events beyond the control of AIAS-MN.

  • AIAS-MN is not responsible for late, lost, illegible, misdirected, mutilated or incomplete entries.

  • Anyone using fraudulent means to participate and/or win the contest will be disqualified. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. AIAS-MN RESERVES ALL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY ENTRANT ATTEMPTING TO DO SO TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING REPORTING SUCH ACTIVITIES TO THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES WHICH MAY RESULT IN OR LEAD TO CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

  • AIAS-MN reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or prematurely conclude a contest should any computer virus, malfunction, fraud, tampering, unauthorized intervention or other cause beyond their control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the contest.

  • In the event a contest is canceled prematurely for any reason, AIAS-MN will use reasonable efforts to pick an alternate winner, but in the event an alternate winner cannot be determined, the prize(s) will not be awarded..

AIAS-MN will not be held liable for:

  • any claims, damages, losses, injuries, or death including any third party claims, arising from or relating to, in whole or in part, any contest, including entry and participation in any contest and acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prizes.

  • entries that do not follow guidelines.

  • entries and responses to winner notifications that are illegible, incomplete, late, lost, misdelivered, marked postage-due, or undeliverable.

  • any technical or human errors, malfunctions, failures, etc. resulting in participation of contests.

Privacy

  • We will not sell your address or personal information. Your address is required so that AIAS-MN may send your prize, should you win.
